Many companies rely on the performance of joining and inspection technologies – not just the process, but also the performance of the resulting products or structures. As such, we work with many of the biggest names in global industry, and supporting functions:

Established in Cambridge, UK in 1946 and with several facilities across the globe, TW (www.twi- is one of Europe’s foremost independent research and technology organisations, employing 740 scientists, technologists, administrative and support staff world-wide (540 in the UK and Europe) and with annual (2014) group turnover of £80million (€94million). TWI works across all industry sectors with expertise in key aspects of materials, materials joining, structural integrity, static and dynamic testing and Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and has representation on over 100 standards committees.

The majority of TWI’s activities (65%) are contract research, funded by industry and built around the development of advanced technologies. TWI is also an active participant in collaborative research programmes in Europe and the UK. TWI has been involved in over 90 European framework projects and have acted as consortium/project or technical project leader on at least half the number of occasions from Framework 5 and onwards through to H2020.

SCITEK Consultants Ltd provides Research and Development services with expertise in fluid-mechanics, vibration, noise, test and measurement. The design, manufacture, instrumentation and control of research rigs forms the backbone of our activities. We offer expertise in CFD and in laser based flow and particle size measurements in industrial environments and we carry out contract flow measurements using PIV, LDA and PDA instrumentation. The company has a strong data acquisition, Instrumentation and software team who support the design manufacture and running of R&D rigs. We also have an experienced rig design team that offer CAD, FEA and frequency analysis services. We have recently established a test facility where we offer test services in the field of spray characterisation, gas turbine blade fatigue and vibration. Our facility offers modern data acquisition and instrumentation infrastructure.

The company also has in house electronic and manufacturing capability to support its project activities. Our customer base includes the Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Power Generation and Automotive industries. We have participated as partners in many EU funded projects e.g. NEWAC, DREAM, SREAMLINE, FIRST, STARGATE and MAXMIX. The company also owns and runs a gas turbine test-bed engine which is used in numerous R&D projects. SCITEK Consultants Ltd has 19 employees and its offices are based in Derby in the UK.

Ventil was founded over fifty years ago, initially distributing globe and butterfly valves. As heavy industry in the Netherlands boomed, so Ventil's range grew to encompass all valve types and it also earned a reputation for quick deliveries and tailor-made packages. To prove the integrity of all modified valves leaving its in-house valve assembly shop, Ventil fabricated its own test bench in the mid 1970s. This equipment sparked such a level of interest from visiting customers that a new company, Ventil Valve Services, was founded to produce high quality test equipment for valves, safety valves and control valves. In early 2000 Ventil's valve and actuator activities were acquired by FCX International, enabling Ventil Test Equipment to fully focus on its core activities. Significant investments soon followed in machining, engineering and process automation capacity. However, the "hands on" expertise with valves and valve applications gained over the past fifty years continues to be a major asset in the design of valve test benches.

Ventil is a mid-size company active in an explicit niche of valve repair and testing. Ventil is a ‘true manufacturer’; Ventil designs, develops, but also has all ‘in-house’ disciplines to manufacture the Ventil machines and equipment.

MECAS ESI is one of 15 subsidiaries acting on territory of Middle and Eastern Europe. MECAS ESI has 65 employees with strong Technical department (35 engineers) performing R&D and engineering project in field of virtual prototyping. MECAS ESI technical team provides technical support and consultation in the field of simulations of: crash tests, structural limit states and multi-physical analysis, as well as virtual tests in field of passive safety, production processes, such as forming, casting, welding, heat treatment, or also test scenarios in vibro-acoustics, flow dynamics and electromagnetic compatibility.

ESI Group is a pioneer and world-leading player in virtual prototyping that take into account the physics of materials. ESI Group has developed an extensive suite of coherent, industry-oriented applications to realistically simulate a product’s behaviour during testing and operation, to fine-tune manufacturing processes in accordance with desired product performance. This solution represents a unique collaborative and open environment for Simulation-Based Design, enabling virtual prototypes to be improved in a continuous and collaborative manner while eliminating the need for physical prototypes during product development. ESI Group is present in over 30 countries and employs some 900 high-level specialists throughout its worldwide network.
